Quality Standards
The Schniga(s) Gala Schnitzer® variety is produced in accordance with strict EEC quality directives. In 1981, the South Tyrolean province government passed a law enacting these standards locally.
All Schniga(s) Gala Schnitzer® scions are subject to quality evaluation at the province’s Laimburg Research Centre. All scions are distributed with the province’s certification label.
In 2003-04, an international promotional campaign was launched in order to make consumers and professionals familiar with the variety. Promotional materials (pdf).
